The Inflation Reduction Act, signed into law by President Biden last August, provides direct savings for households to make energy efficiency improvements. For households with annual incomes between 80 and 150 percent of an area's median income, the family can receive reimbursements of up to 50 percent of the cost of the project. Those with incomes below 80 percent of an area's median income can receive reimbursements of up to 100 percent of the cost of the project. Any technology that a home wants to install that is not eligible for a rebate can be installed without a federally funded rebate.
